Culiacan is a residential building consisting of two types of apartments and two penthouses on the top. The ten apartments share a gym and community room on the ground floor.
Site conditions with the given program, put some foundation to the project’s architectural design. A challange was to fit the required volume on the proportionally small site, without interferring with the views and privacy of the neighbours. The building’s skeleton of steel columns and horizontal bands of U profiles create a visually light and transparent structure and lightens up the overall volume. The raw concrete walls create a hard and privately contrast to the glazed windows. The project is seeking greater spatial qualities of the apartments through good distribution of rooms, terraces and common areas.
